Farm Tours

Our farm is nestled on the Yorkshire Wolds with expansive views that reach as far as 70 miles on a clear day. Looking south west, we can see the vale of York and York minster and looking north, we can see the North Yorkshire Moors and west we can see the Pennines. We believe that on clear days we have one of the best views in Yorkshire with the most spectacular sunsets.

Our Farm Tour will venture in to our fields, some of the terrain is uneven, hilly and can be slippy when it’s muddy. We suggest those who are unsure of walking on this terrain contact us first.

You’ll discover what life is like on a working farm. We’ll talk about the chalk Wolds and the grass pastures and how we farm it over the four seasons, from fertilizing the pasture to haymaking. You’ll get a tour of our sheep, and if its summer we have free range pigs in the orchard so there’ll be a chance to feed them also. From spring to autumn, we have cattle in the fields, so we can also tell you about beef farming. We’ll discuss how the lambing season works and how we raise the lambs and the difficulties we face in doing so.

What you’ll need to bring:

  • Warm Clothes & Thermals in winter! It can be pretty cold on our hillside especially when there’s a northerly wind.
  • Wellington Boots

Tours last 1 hour and cost £13 per adult and £9 per child. Children under 2 years are not charged.
